Why PONDICHERRY is not a destination for Industries? Why there isnt any opportunity for me to work in my hometown?
The Situation As a responsible youth of Pondicherry I wanted to draft this article so as to make an awareness in first place and hence open up on the long bothering question in my head - Why I cannot work in pondicherry, my hometown? Why do I have to go out of Pondy to set my career?. Before approaching the topic, I would like to post three main points. 1. Pondicherry doesn't have Industries catering to job opportunities 2. Bringing Industries to Pondicherry is the task of the Government 3. There is a proper consortium already present in Pondicherry Government to bring Industries into Pondicherry such as PIPDIC, Guidance Bureau, Single Window, what not? Department of Commerce and Industries. So, What do we have? Pondicherry - as we bluntly understand is a tourism economy, it is not so. We cannot conclude Pondicherry's economy to be Tourism based without even trying to explore or understand what it takes for a 100 Crore - Investing company generating approx
